C70 Window Regulator
1998 C70 Coupe, 2.3 T5, Auto. 42k miles.
My drivers side window would go down real nice, but only go up half way 3 days ago. I wiggled it up finally. Today I removed all inside panel things and rear view mirror, tried again to observe problem, nothing aparent.
Removed 6 top bolt, 2 bottom bolts, removed rubber grommet, pushed motor harnes into door, removed 2piece large block assembly from on top of bottom regulator frame, removed regulator & motor assembly as 1 piece from door. Inspected, nothing obvious. Sprayed WD40 on window slide track. Sprayed silicone on bottom rollers. Re-installed regulator/motor assy. Removed switch panel from door panel, tie-wrapped to door to operate. Window now won't go up all the way or down all the way binds @ 1/2 way. Did not re-install rear view mirror. any help? Thanks!

I'm fairly certain it's just an issue with the regulator/motor assembly. I dunno if it's anything you can repair aside from just buying a whole new assembly. =(
Here's another thread about it, maybe you have the same problem...

Need new ignition switch also, right side, replaced left side contact switch. STEALER wants $532! 42k miles failure time I guess! Confirmed wire cable take up module bad, plastic gears! Motor good, regulator frame good. Not brave enough to just replace cable module, getting cable wound up right real PITA!!! E-bay to the rescue!

Stealer $552 for new complete ignition. $25 e-bay bid with key. Removed old asembly per forum instructions, installed e-bay switch. Works perfect. Had 2 keys cut from my e-bay blanks, $30 ea. to cut. Stealer $820 for window regulator without glass, e-bay bid/won $340 with glass. Awaiting delivery.

Window regulator install
Completed install today of drivers side window regulator. Purchased used regulator with window off e-bay. Got 1999 regulator. This is another case were a 1999 is not the same as 1998! Complete key ignition system installed last week from 1999 was not the same either. Installation was reasonably easy, Removed passenger side interior panel measured bottom bolt mounting distance from inside door panel, transferred measurements to drivers side. Window works perfectly! One minor adjustment required on bottom bolts. Had to remove tint from inside window, now trying to remove glue from tint, any suggestions? Thanks!

I don't know if your window regulator in your newer C70 is like mine, but mine did the same thing @ first. I finally got to take my regulator motor assembly apart to see what caused mine to fail. In my case the wire rope wrapped around a plastic spool, much like a weed wacker string spool. The wire rope had flattened on the edge of the wheel so it wouldn't unwind like it should. The edge of the spool was worn out, suspect it binded @ some time. My motor is perfect. No parts available so replaced whole assembly. Plastic & wire rope/cable don't mix!!!
