Default Coolant leaking problems

Hi, Im posting first time on here, hope i will find some help on here.

I had some problems with my volvo c70 t5 recently. Coolant is leaking but not sure where from. I have changed coolant header tank today because it had a small hole but no luck. As well my volvo overheats for some reason. Upper radiator hose gets very very hot and on very high preasure. Can it be that thermostat got stuck or can it be water pump problems. As well i have checked my oil today and i think it looks bit strange like mixed with water. I hope nothing wrong and that my engine is not flooded.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I would suspect the thermostat is stuck. Replace. Oil & water mixed in oil could be a cracked block or head. Take the thermostat out & see what happens. You can run the engine without a thermostat, just don't take it for a long drive, more than around the block or so.

From what you have said, I would say that your head gasket is in need of replacement. That would explain the coolant/oil mix in the expansion tank, and the pressurization of the cooling system.

Another poster suggested a cracked head or block, I would think the head gasket would be the place to start looking. A good independent mechanic should be able to assist you in diagnosing the problem. Pressure testing the cooling system or a leak down test may help you diagnose the problem.

Good luck.
