With my '08 C70 which has the Geartronic 5 speed transmission I've been fighting a low speed vibration issue. I've done all the mechanical bits such as axle shafts, motor/transmission mounts etc.

Searching the threads here I've found some posts recommending transmission flush out as an action that may help.

I stopped at the local Volvo dealer yesterday and discussed this with the service writer. He suggested that first we try to "flash the transmission". I assume this means rebooting or resetting to default any/all electronic modules what are associated with the transmission. Not sure how this will help the vibration issue but what do I know.

Does anyone know what 'flash the transmission' is? Will it help?

Any thoughts or comments will be greatly appreciated.

He probably means updating the TCM software if there is an update.
