Default Front Door Panel Removal 1990-1998 only

Tony12340. Disconnect the negative battery cable. You need a long handled flat tip screwdriver 1/4in tip. Tape blade tip to prevent panel damage during removal. Remove 3 screws holding door pocket by turning them 90 degrees. Remove screws holding arm rest under plastic cover. Remove the plastic housing around the inner latch release, door handle. Remove the door speaker grill with small flat screwdriver by gently prying off. Remove the door speaker mounting screws. remove door speaker. Remove the trim panel above arm rest by gently prying off. Remove all door panel retainig screws & clips, some hidden by small access covers. Unscrew the lock botton from the shaft. The door panel is removed by gently prying the edge away from the door. Use broad flat tool inserted between the panel and the metal door, like a painters 5 in 1 tool. This prevents clip damage. Make sure all screws, fasteners & clips are removed, remove the door panel by lifting up at the top window edge. Disconnect all wiring to courtesy light, speakers etc. Do not damage the moisture barrier on the inside of the door panel area, this must be put back, taped if required with waterproof tape. There are 5 screws holding the bottom of the door panel. Remove the clips on the door lock retaining bolts. Disconnect the lock rods from the lock cylinder. Good luck. Do not force panel off gently pry all panels covers etc. off. Good luck!
