HARD TO START 1999 C70
HARD TO START INTERMITTENTLY, WHEN YOU TURN IGNITION KEY ON BEFORE START ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO HEAR FUEL PUMP BUZZ A LITTLE? I HEAR NOTHING, MAYBE FUEL PUMP OR FUEL FILTER? IS FUEL PUMP HARD TO CHANGE? WHERE CAN I PURCHASE FOR RESONABLE PRICE?
The pumps are Very hard to hear on the C70.
What exactly does it do?
It cranks over but doesn't start?
It could also be the Key or Antenna ring (Ligth around igniton switch) bad.
Next time it happens take the key out and turn it 180 degrees and then try again and see if it starts right up.

WHAT HAPPENS, KEY TO START, RPM'S RISE ABOVE 1000 IMMEDIATELY AND THEN DROPS TO ZERO, THEN IT TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO START. SOMETIMES WHEN I CAN ANTICIPATE IT HAPPENING I GIVE IT A LITTLE GAS, THEN ENGINE RPM'S RISE TO 1500 AND THEN STABILIZES BELOW 1000 AT NORMAL. THANKS FOR THE TIPS TECH , YOU ARE DEFINATELY AN ASSET TO THIS FORUM. WHAT STATE YOU LOCATED IN ?
The Antenna is the Little light around the ignition switch.
Yes you can replace it your self. All you have to do is drop the covers for the steering column.
