Default Headlight problem

I have a 2000 2.3 C70 Coupe. 72,000 miles, 5 speed manual.

I have gone through 3 low beam headlights in 9,000 miles (2 pass side, 1 driver). I was putting Silver stars in but now i am putting cheap ones in because it is getting expensive. I have also burnt out one brake light (not sure if it is related). My last head light had what appeared to be a burn spot right on the terminal that pluges into the car wiring. Has anyone else experienced this? I have no other problems with the car. Could I be getting voltage surges?

what i would do is get some diaelectric grease <---spell check---- and put it on the terminals of the bulbs andin the sockets. make sure your bulbs are 55w too.

i had a problem getting my bulbs out and one bulb came apart cause of the corrosion, possibly from the metals being different.

Either get true HID's or replace with OEM bulbs. Replace the plugs and damaged wire with new, the grease may help a little bit. Good luck.

www.sharphid.com and Ebay to name a few. Available in a 35w and 55 w kits, determine what color temperature you would like to run, 4.3k temperature having the most light output. Plug and play, just need to find a place to mount the ballasts that come with the bulbs. Good luck.

Thanks. They look good but expensive with each around 330 dollars per side.

Depending on where you live, most people will just do the low beam. If you want to do the highs that is fine. Just bear in mind that HID style lights are not designed to be turned off and on as this will lead to failure.

Turning the lights off and on repeatedly comment was only for the Hi beams. HID's take about a second to turn on properly. Plenty of people have put normal HID bulbs in place of their Hi bulb, but I would invest in a Bixenon HID setup for the Hi's.
