Default Heavy Ride

I have a 2004 C70 I bought used and notice that it has a very heavy ride; I feel every bump in the road and sometimes jarring from small pot holes. It's a rough ride over anything but new, smooth pavement. Is there a solution that smooths out this otherwise great ride?

Your springs/shocks could be hard, if they were replaced the new ones could be harder. Also if this is a convertible you will feel bumps more as convertibles aren't as rigid as closed cars therefore they flex more. Actually one of the negative reviews the first gen converts got is more flexing then other convertibles.

your ride is a factor of tires and tire pressure, shocks and spring rates. Unless you are in the market for new struts, I'd look into your tire pressure settings, choice of tires and wheels. If you are running very tall rims with low side walls, ie 18 inch wheels with 40 profiles, you will get a rougher ride than say 17s with 45s or 16s with 55s. I would not consider old vs new springs a factor but non-progressive rate lowering springs would certainly firm the ride.
