Default Hey, My Volvo's Passenger Door Lock Will NOT Lock.

The Problem is that it WON'T lock... NOT that It Won't UNLOCK.

Sorry for being unclear.

any idea?

Thank You.

lemme guess, it locks but wont unlock? Sounds like the door lock actuator is dead, and the dealer parts cost is ~$300 or so. Install is kind of a royal pain, it's been discussed. Search.

High price would be your local dealer for the door lock assembly and installation. If you do the work yourself and buy an after market actuator it should cost you about 7$. Did my driver's door with no issues.

I bought a used one for $50. Install was a pain because you need to remove the window (and re-install it).

Care to tell us where you got your aftermarket actuator?

I used a traditional 524N style aftermarket door lock actuator. This is used to add power door locks to a vehicle that does not have a motor. The factory assembly breaks down to 3 components: door pin, lock actuator, lock assembly. Going off the OP I am under the impression that the actuator portion has failed. My solution still requires the door pin and lock assembly to be in working order. This would be verified if the lock works if manually depressing the pin. Relays need to be added to make them work, but I have a write up floating around to give you all the wire color codes.
