hey, i just noticed that over my rear view mirror is a lil black box that says that it's a GPS Identification transponder???

is this a volvo item?

who else has this thing and what does it do??

post a pic. i wonder if it was traded in with a GPS unit or something, and thats the transmitter. As it says it is... The dealer might have ripped out the head unit, not knowing to rip out the whole thing..
