Default my C70 at the dealer

I should be picking up my 01 C70 today if all goes right. Her tranny went belly up, luckily it was covered under warranty. The dealer mentioned the tech found the positive cable was arcing 50% of its length. He quoted me 90 on the cable and around 290 for the labor.

How do you test for this arcing? and What the hell is he talking about lol?

sounds like a positve 12v wire or cable was grounding out on the body or something on the car.

Just picked up my car, trans feels good. I did feel some harsh downshift in a rapid decel feels normal thou.

The cable they said was bad, the tech said he got shocked while working on car. I dunno I never got shocked working on a car unless I actually grounded a tool that had power thru it say on the pos bolt of the starter and hit the frame or engine.

test the cable? I guess Ill do the same the tech said he did. Ill rub my arm all along the length of it lol.

My brother thinks the dealer was just trying to upsell me, but I doubt it.

My tranny problems started one day after work. I started it put it in reverse and I heard the front tire chirp, I drove to my bros shop to check it out it also felt like maybe the mount was bad. At a light I put it in 1st gear and nothing reved it up slowly around 3k rpm she started moving.

Then when I drove to the dealer rpm's rose to 4k down to 2k and the slippage started, then nothing

Look for cuts. Also check and see the voltage output at the battery.
