Default My c70 is stuck. So am I.

Hello all, so last night I let a friend drive my car, bad idea. I THINK my clutch is gone. I had 150k on it. I called the dealer to price out how much a clutch kit will cost. The parts guy at the dealer told me I needed to replace the flywheel as well. I believe he said it was a Dual Mass Flywheel. Do I HAVE to replace the flywheel along with the clutch, throwout and the slave? Can I just have it machined? I've never done any major engine/transmission work on the car, only suspension, ignition, brakes, electrical etc... relatively easy stuff. Can anyone shed some light as to what I'm up against? Am I going to get in over my head? Should I have the dealer do it? My volvo is my only asset... Help!

I have not messed with the dual mass setup as of yet. I would contact a machine shop and see if they can resurface it.

You will have to drop the subframe and lower the motor on the drivers side to get the transmission out.

Okay, I'm ripping it out this weekend so I guess thats when I find out whats actually broken. I mean who wants to spend $850 on a flywheel!!!

So I decided to pull the entire engine with the transmission. It should be out if all goes as planned on Wednesday. Should be interesting! It doesn't look too difficult to pull so I'm giving it a shot. I posted some pictures check them out!

Well about 2 weeks later I have it back together and running. What a pain in the ***. I ended up replacing the dual mass flywheel, I put a SPEC stage 2 clutch in it. A little chatter, which I suspect will go away after the clutch is totally broken in. And the trick to bleeding the clutches I've found is gravity bleed it for an hour!
