Default New Guy - First Impression 2006 C70

I’ve had the car for a week now . First I must say I love the car. Now the good and the bad. It is Black/Calcite Cream, Nav, Prim, Climate, Tinted Windows, Clear Bra, K&N.

Good:

•There are many ways to personalize car settings through the computer. Things like stereo, CD, alarm, wipers, etc.
•Power is great! I traded in a Nissan Titan pushing 350 horses and 380 ft, so I know what I’m talking about. No, it won’t beat a Corvette, but it’s not designed to do so. Turbo Lag is very little if any, I have not felt any, the wife says she has felt some.
•Gas mileage in the city is showing 20 consistently (car computer). I have not spent any time on the highway so I can’t comment on the highway miles.
•Solid ride, handles like a dream with the top up or down. No noticeable flexing, shaking or noises.
•The cabin is very quiet with the top up!
•The Top works great! It is aggravating that you have to hold the brake pedal down and your finger on the open or close button until the procedure is complete.
•The basic stereo is awesome. I have not heard the upgraded stereo. However, the basic stereo sounds great and has good adjustability.
•Fit and finish is awesome. I have the Calcite Cream and just love the way it looks and feels. Only the hand grab wells on the door look plasticky and out of place (very small complaint and its hard to see). I have the black paint and it looks great, incredible shine. No noises in the cockpit from the dash, seats or top!
•Navigation, very elegantly placed. Not even close to the user-friendliness of the Honda, Lexus or even Nissan, but it works nicely and it’s easy to figure out and operate after some practice. However, you can’t search by phone number which it’s the easiest and shortest way to search IMO. The Nav remote works great and allows the passenger to operate the nav.
•Turbulence with the top down is extremely little up front, but really bad in the back. Two minutes into the kid’s first top down drive my four year old was asking me to put the top up…..
•Trunk space with the top up is normal for a coupe! With the top down is very adequate.
•Both front windows are one touch up and down. All the windows can be raised and lowered with one button. The remote can open the windows as well.

Bad:

•The halogen lights are DISSMAL, they are a safety hazard! I have to figure out how to adjust since they seem to be set too low. There is a lot of good info in this forum to do so. Thanks.
•Side mirrors are very small, they look great though.
•Seat memory requires you to push both the memory seat set button and one of the four buttons, at the same time to program. Not a big deal but awkward. To use the seat memory, you have to press the button the whole time until the seat arrives at its memory setting. I mentioned the top before, similar safety precautions having to hold the buttons till the action is complete.
•A car in this price range should have the following options standard.
HID, Tire pressure monitor, Bluetooth integrated into the stereo, not hanging on the dashboard and an auxiliary port for the stereo (coming in 07).
•Rear seat belts rattle at high speed with the top down (minor).
•There is a lot of room in the back seat for a child seat, however, the latches for the seat are in and up. It's hard to connetc the seat using the latch system.
•The trunk lid separator seems very flimsy. Works great though.
•Kind of humorous, the top has no rain gutters so the water runs into the cockpit when it is raining.

Would I buy the car again? Yes, but I would have ordered the car, instead of buying it from the lot and would have ordered with the xenon lights. The low beam lights is my only real complaint with the C70.
