TECH............simply a question for you with probably no solution.

Since new (2002) the sun roof on my c70 admits a terrific amount of wind noise. When traveling above 50MPH and with the roof closed.............and with a wind deflector............the noise rushing over the closed window is incredible. Now our Mazda and BMW are quiet as can be even with the sun shade open. Is there a cure? I suppose only if I tape the window would the noise go away but I am open to suggestions.

When you look across the roof line is the sunroof level or is the back up a little higher?

 

No, it is level. It does not leak either. I am in Toms River this week and am driving a Ford. It's sun roof is absolutely quiet! I thought that if I installed a deflector it might quiet the sound of the air rushing over the closed sun roof............but it did not do a thing! I have put up with this for four years along with the rattling sun shade. It has to be the lousiest sun roof I have ever experienced! I truly have thought about sealing the top with calk!!!

Try adjusting the rear of it up just a hair and see it if works.

 

Can do. It probably will not be until April or May as the old Volvo sits in the airport parking lot until then. I have a break in my schedule and will try moving the rear both up and perhaps down. Thanks TECH.
