Default Oil viscosity

I have a 2005 2.0 Litre C70 convertible and I’m shipping it out to Spain and want to know if a15w40 grade oil would be ok ?

acceptable oil weights are published in the owners manual - available online at https://www.volvocars.com/us/own/own...owners-manuals (at least the US versions of the car ) Generally the recommended oil weight aligns to the local climate and driving conditions - normal climates the US manual shows 5W-30 and 5W-40 for warmer temps. I'd probably go with the 5W/40 over the 15W40 as the latter may be a little thick when cold.

did some checking on the temp's in Spain and found there are no big swings between US and Spain! Spain it seems would be analogous to say Oklahoma not counting the snow fall (did not look for that). winter temps range from 5 - 14 Celsius and highs from average 75 degrees. So I would stick with the recommended under the hood!
