I had a Volvo mechanic check over my C70. It's mostly not bad, but he found that both rear coil springs had broken. They are broken right at the top, just half a coil which means it's just sitting a little lower. (I had not even noticed anything wrong ).

Anyhow I am looking for a solution. C70s are pretty rare and I am wondering if springs from a scrapped 850 or V70 would fit. Otherwise where culd I get replacements for a reasonable price?

 

850 and S70 springs should be the same. I have never seen one let alone 2 springs broke.

 

I have found a supplier of spares, autogateway.co.uk they cost 44.50 GBP, not bad and about half the main dealer price. Just got to get them fitted now. Thanks for the info.

 

Too bad you are over the pond. I would give you my rear springs for the cost of shipping.

 

Quick update. My local independant volvo guy fitted springs today, Only 1 hours labour charge, V reasonable. Rides 1 1/2 inches higher and handles a whole lot better. Money well spent!
