Default Rear shock replacement 2006 C70

Anyone out there have any accurate info on rear shock replacement on 2006 C70? Specifically I need to know where/how to access the top shock mount.

Right from the wheel well. Shocks don't get any easier than on that car.

ES6T - I have a local shop that doesn't know much about volvos. I have a 2006 C70. Are the shocks very straightforward for a competent mechanic? Require any special tools? I can get the OEM shocks for a good price online vs Bilstein. How long does it take to change? THANKS!

No special tools. Any mechanic should have no trouble at all. They can both be done in 30 minutes no problem.

Hi - thanks for posting the pdf except it was for an exhaust system, not rear shocks.

A question - when I last researched this, most of the cars were older and the back seat and speakers had to be removed to get to the top of the rear shocks. I have a 2008 - is this still the case? When I opened the trunk the other day, I saw what appears to be the tops in a reasonably accessible spot.

Anyone have details for the later versions of the car (hardtop convertible).

Details are already posted. You access it right from the wheel well, as I stated. Literally 3 bolts per side (two on top, one on bottom) and its out.

Thanks! should be pretty inexpensive to get my local garage to do it. One place quoted me over $700 (including shocks) saying it was "pretty involved".

I had read the procedure for 1999's but it seemed like the 2008 was different after looking in the trunk.

Thanks for the info
