Default Volvo C70 drivers Power seat doesnt work at all

Hi,

i bought volvo c70 last week and it came with couple of issues.
First one is the power seat , it doesnt move at all , i’ve already checked the fuses and wires and the main box under the seat , they all are fine.

Last owner said that there is some small spring missing and he gave me the spring with but i have no idea where it goes to? Is it even possible that some small spring missing could make the power seats dead ?

There is an electric motor(s) that move the seat. That spring appears to be a support for the seat cushion. The only way to know for sure is to get a scan tool and see if you can move the seat via command. If not, then I suspect a failed motor.

It's not likely a failed motor. That spring is for the microswitch in the seat. Hard to explain, but I'm sure of you Google Volvo C70 seat microswitch spring you'll find what you need to get it working.

The spring in the photo is not for the micro-switch. Assuming for a moment that the OP is showing a photograph of the spring in question, it very much appears to be a support spring.

As mentioned before, ask someone to use a scan tool and see if they can move the seat by commanding it from the menu. My Snap On scan tool gives that option and we use it when we suspect a bad switch or motor.

The only switches that I've replaced on Volvos for power seats are the ones that the adjusting ***** were broken off. Even then, if you used a pick to move the apparatus, the seat would move.

Essentially I am suggesting just a bit more diagnosis.
