I have a c70 and the VVT pulley is wobbling there is play in all directions only alittle, ive never stripped 1 of these off is it a sign of wear or do these pulley move alittle (floating) the belt isnt running in a straight line as it comes over the vvt pulley to the other camshaft pulley i know that isnt good ,Is it worn out

Well with the belt off it will turn foward and back some which is normal.
If it wobbles with the belt on I think something is wrong.

What was wrong?

I guess you never took my advise then I thought I helped out out on the running problem post a while ago. Just because I might not know about your car does not mean I do not know nothing.

The other thousand or so people on this board will disagree with you on that one.

I have learned a tremendous amount about fixing my car by reading this forum over the past few months. The advice that Tech and many others offer is top notch. This forum is about sharing what you know to help others.

Advice is not perfect. It's hard to diagnose a problem that you don't see first hand.

If you learned something about the vvt pulley from your dealer, I hope you will share that with us.

Correct it should not have any play at all. If you remove the belt you can roll the pulley foward and back only like if you were trying to spin the pulley and cam. It should be that way to adjust timing while the car is running. Oil pressure is what adjusts the timing.
