My C70's 'W' Button doesn't appear to do anything. According to the owners manual this should be activated while in DRIVE and the button will illuminate as will an indicator on the dash. When I press the 'W' button nothing illuminates on the button or the dash. Ideas?

There should be an orange arrow on the right side of the instrument cluster when the winter mode switch is activated. Essentially what it does is start the vehicle in second gear vs first. If the arrow is not activated, you probably have a defective switch in the console.

I'll ensure that the arrow is lighting next time I turn the key on. If its not, it may be a defective indicator light in the dash. I saw the indicator mentioned in the owners manual and I believe that it is illuminating when the car starts, but I'll double check. Thanks, Reg.

 

The Up Arrow indicator on the dash does light when I start the car and it displays all the illuminated indicators on the dash. Looks like it may indeed be a bad switch under the 'W' button. I hope... as that would be easy.

 

I would give that a try as when the auto is running and the "W" switch is depressed the arrow lights immediately.................if it is operating.

Just as further information, when dropping the transmission from D into 4, 3, or 2 the arrow on the dash cluster also illuminates as it should. Is the stealer going to want an arm and a leg for that switch?

can anyone give me information about accelerator jam???
it does not work when i put my car on second gear?/?any special reason?
