XC60 2025 XC60 Hybrid not charging
Bought the car in Nov, 24 & have been plugging it into a 110v GFC plug in my garage. Fully charges overnight with no issues until March. Wife went out to unplug the car & the light on the plug was solid red & car only charged to around 26 miles. No error codes displayed. She did a hard reset of the car & over the next week, it would do the same thing intermittently (sometimes it would fully charge, sometimes not). Brought the car to the dealership - they said they found no codes, & the car fully charged with both our original cable & their own cable. Said nothing wrong on their end. Took the car back home & it charged fine. Drove the car to my son's house & plugged it in there for several days with no issues. Now a month later, it is doing the same exact thing - charges fully sometimes, red light other times. Wall socket does not trip the breaker or the GFC & it tests as being properly wired/grounded. I also checked to make sure the charger cylinder socket is completely plugged in. HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR ISSUES? The Volvo dealership's Service Dept here in San Antonio has not inspired a lot of confidence when we have used them over the past 6 years so trying to see what my next options are. Any help would be appreciated - thanx!
I had similar experiences with home charging my 2025 S60 T8. I eventually realized charging on a shared circuit with anything else was not cutting it. Even though neither the GFCI nor the breaker would trip, the charger would turn red. I installed a dedicated 220V line for the charger in my garage and have had no issues since, plus it charges fully in half the time. I highly recommend a dedicated circuit.
