Hi, I'm new to the Volvo family having recently bought a 2018 XC90 PHEV. Just yesterday it decided it didn't want to charge. When I plug it in to the stock L1 charger the ring on the port turns yellow then immediately solid red. We also have a PHEV Chrysler Pacifica and the same charge cord works fine with it...all lights are blue on the charger. I haven't been able to try charging elsewhere yet. The only thing I can think of is we had a ton of rain yesterday so maybe water got into the port and caused a short? Appreciate any tips. I've spent quite a bit of time googling this issue but most of the threads seem to be related to error lights on the charge cord itself. Thanks!
***Update-for giggles I tried using the Pacifica's charge cord and voila it worked fine. What's become obvious is that the Volvo charge cable is not latching in place to the XC90 but it is on the Pacifica. The Pacifica cable latches onto both cars. Fortunately we have a service appointment next week and will have them take a look.

2016 version here and I’ve had various cable connection problems too. And I ended up being stuck for 45mins at a public charging point in recent times.

but it’s never happened at home just using the basic ‘plug in to a home (external) socket’

the issue i had was also with the cable end plug seemingly making too good a join with the car and the car not recognising that it can release it.

so not the same example, but implication that there are ‘oddities’ with the connection and disconnection mechanisms from time to time
