Default 01 S40 1.9t (timing belt broke)

My name's ken, I'm located in Duncannon,Pa, I purchased this Volvo last Saturday. I've always loved the look of volvos. And my grandfather was a Saab fanatic who also owned a few volvos.
. Any way I bought this car for $1,000 inspected, running, driving exc. Has 230,000 miles on it.
(My grandfather's volvos had upward to 400,00 miles before he got rid of his). The cars solid an only needed sway bar links Wich came brand new with the car. Not a spot of rust an pretty clean for a 20+ year old car!. Well I know with these cars to make sure you maintain timing belt. I was planning on putting a new belt on next weekend. Unfortunately I drove it twice an it broke on me. Poor thing didn't make it 24 hours!!! I'm absolutely in love with this car already and it's just to solid to junk it. I wanna keep it, fix it an get as much as I can out of it.
I'm pretty mechanically inclined and been working on cars or helping most of my life. I have a garage an most tools. Thier for I started tearing the motor down that very night. (Sunday)
To get the head off an see just what kinda damage is done. So far I got down to taking the cam/valve cover off. And I'm stuck at a point where I cannot remove it with out taking the vvt gear off. I have a t55 torx bit but cannot get to it with a socket wrench! Because the piece of bracket where I believe power steering reservoir Is bolted is in the way and Thier absolutely no room!! I was able to get the cap off using the back end of a small wrench around torx bit. With leverage from a pipe. But do to no belt holding it, an such a small wrench I don't think I'll be able to loosen the bolt that holds vvt gear on. I'm planning on making or buying the kit to hold cams in place. But still how can I get to that bolt without possibly taking motor mount off an lifting engine up slightly? Am I able to take the bracket off that you would use to pull the motor out on right side of engine, and pull the cam cover off? With the extra room instead of tryna lift the motor by removing the motor mount(Wich the three bolts seem to wanna break my ratchet before coming loose!!!)?
#2 is Thier any more pointers or things to watch out for? I can post pics of my progress as well.
Feel free to email me or private message me!
Thankyou In advance to any an all help/advice from fellow Volvo enthusiast & owners!!!

Hi Ken. If I were you, I'd first put it all back together, in time, and see what happens when you start it.

If it doesn't start, then I'd just find a used motor to swap in. It's the best use of your time.

To get the cam bolt cracked free, you need to lock the cams on the backside. You can buy a cam locking tool on Amazon for around $50. However, I don't think you should.

Put it back together, buy a new belt, time it, and cross your fingers. Remember, it's already broke, you can't break it any further.
