You can try to have Volvo deactivate your DRL's, good luck getting them to do this now.
However HID's can be used and many do use them. You just need some extra wires that don't come with an HID kit. Bulb Out Warning Cancellers.
SharpHID.com has everything you need to set your ride up right for HID's.
