hello i unfortunatly bought a car w.o personaly driving it, anyway as soon as i got in it to drive away (and the seller was long gone) i instantly knew something was wrong.
so when you put it in drive it shifts through 1st and second gear flawlessly even when you punch it, but as soon as its ready for 3rd the rpm's go all the way up until you let off the gas, i did notice that you can hold the rpms around 3-4 thousand and it will shift to 4th no problems and so on through the gears. i dont have plates for the car yet so i cant drive it to the volvo dealer so they can run a $80 diagnostic test on it. iv called around to some transmission places and not many deal with volvos but one sounded like he knew what he was talking about, he said that the trans is electronically driven so it could be somthing electrical causing it to act up. the fluid is new and clean in the tranny, any help or advice will be appreciated thanks
