I have a 2005 Volvo s40. The immobilizer warning was on. I was given some information that undo the battery and then hook it back up. Now the key will not come out. The car will not start or anything like there is no battery. The lock unlock trick did not work before I undid the battery. I already checked the gear shift to make sure it was all the way in park.

 

No power, no lights, no anything? Not even interior lights when you open the door?

I was thinking maybe the ignition switch went bad but you should have lights. When my switch went bad the car acting like you never turned the key to START.
