Default '05 S40 - Shift Boot Help

Hey there, I am about to get an '05 S40, only problem is the shift boot is torn. Wondering how hard replacement is on these things with all that 'free-floating' dash stuff going on. Where can I find a new shfit boot or should I just visit the dealer and let them handle it all? Any idea on price?

thanks

How many miles on the car? If less than 50kmi,take it straight to bigVolvo dealer and have them look it over same day of purchase. Odds are they will find something that is covered under warranty and commence with its repair. With a little luck, they may find a couple things; and mention the boot repair in the same mix. Think outside the box, they will get it handled - most likely with not a penny out of your pocket.

Hey Todd,

Let me know how this goes, as I am in a similar position to you. While my boot is not torn, it is considerably worn and has many stains. Hopefully you find something that is reasonably priced!

Connor.

Hmmmm, 2 posts in 5 years. Might not get an answer from him!

You could have an upholstery shop stitch you one up?
