Question 06 S40 Outside Temperature Sensor Is Wrong No A/C and Gas Gauge Stopped Working

I hope someone has some advice on repairing this.
My outside Temp sensor reads -28 in Tampa Florida March 5, 2017!
I have been through many threads here and I am looking for someone who has found a solution for repairing the ambient temp sensor.
It is causing my A/C and my fuel gauge to not work correctly.
Here is what I have done from what I found on these threads:
Took the harness apart add grease look for corrosion = no corrosion
Took the sensor clip out to check wires = was good
No codes are displayed at this time.
Anyone found a solution?
I would be very greatful for any solutions or directions to solve this.
Thanks

I would install a new sensor in the drivers mirror - they are cheap!

Tim,
Thanks for the info. Can I just splice the wires in. I mea do I just cut the wires on the old one and splice the new one in?
How would I pull the wires from the old one out of the door harness?
Thanks, I appreciate it.
