2000 S40 engine code
I need to replace my head gasket on a 2000 S40 with the B4204T engine code. The instructions I found is for replacing the head gasket with the B4204T2 engine code.
What is the difference between B4204T and B4204T2?

Are you sure your 2000 has a 4204T and not the T2? The wiki shows the 4204Ts in the 98/99s and the 4204T2 in the 2000s. with that said, I really would not expect any difference in the engine internals like the head gasket between the two.

I guess you may have an early model S40... FCP Euro shows this part # as applicable to the 2000 S40s with the B4204T:

If in doubt, you can call a dealer parts dept with your VIN to confirm the part number. As to instructions, it'd all be the same there were no substantial changes to the design.
I'd go look at my 2000 to compare, but its under a foot of snow today :-)
