Default 2000 s40 overheated wont start

I have a 2000 s40 it overheated I pulled over was towed home. Put water in it and it sat for 1week now it won't start. Someone said blown head but there's no water in oil , it's getting spark ,and fuel . It's turning over sounds like it wants to start but it doesn't. I'm lost HELP ME PLEASE.

First thing is to check the timing belt. Next I would check compression. If it's getting air, spark, and fuel but still not starting you have to dig a bit deeper.

I don't know what's considered a necro post here. But I figured I'd pitch in. Check for oil in your coolant as well. It can be one or the other. Worst case scenario, you may have cracked the head or something similar. Just check compression, then spark, then fuel. Good luck.
