2000 Volvo S40 Idle
Im having trouble with the idle on my S40. When I come to a short stop it dies. It also seems to be idling low when just running.
Where do i start? Fuel filter?
The instrument cluster just went out and my son ran it out of gas, i wouldnt think this would be a factor. Maybe running out of gas churned up some stuff in the tank that ran into the system?

If the filter has not been changed in a long time then it can't hurt.
Make sure the hose from the intercooler to the throttle body is not broken. Mine acted strange when the tube split in two. In the picture it's the z shaped tube starting inside the red square and running to just below the throttle body.
A dirty IAC passage can also cause idle issues. The pintle gets gummed up with carbon and needs some tlc to free it up.
