2004.5 S40 Stalled and Won't Start, already ruled out basic problems
So the other day as I was stopped in traffic, all the dash lights flash on then off, engine turned off, and displayed a message saying its due for regular maintenance. The red oil light and a check engine light (which was previously on) stay lit after I turn the car off and back on.
The check engine light had turned on a couple weeks earlier, got the code checked at autozone and it looked like a gas cap error. I remember seeing the message "gas cap open" once after fueling but after checking it nothing was wrong. It seems like there are some computer errors in my car, so I ignored the check engine light. Not sure if this has any relation to the actual problem.
When I tried to restart the car, the engine turned but it sputtered and would not start.
Its not a battery problem, and the mechanic said fuel pressure and spark is there.
He asked if it could be an Immobilizer problem, which after researching looks like it could be possible but I dont see how that could make the car stall mid-traffic?
Is there anyone who has advice or previous experience with a problem like this?
