Hey there everybody!
I just purchased my first brand new Volvo, a sexy S40 in Flint Gre Metallic. As stated in the newbie section, it replaced our beloved 1997 E320, which was a hard pair of shoes to fill. I do love her though. In the owner's manual, it states that the remote can open the cars windows upon approach by continuing to press the unlock button a few seconds after the locks open. I cannot get this to work. Any thoughts? I did not see a setting for this in the menu on the OBC, am I missing something? Thanks guys!

 

On mine, you have to press and hold the unlock button on the fob, after unlocking the doors. It takes about 5-7 seconds.

 

Wow thats ironic, my brand new S40 replaced my 97 E420. (almost the same though mine was totaled). I also havent gotten the unlock button to work either. I tried pressing it for several seconds but those windows won't open.

 

I tried it too, doesn't seen to work. I guess it's an option they turn on at the dealer when programming the alarm?

 

This has to be programmed at a dealer. there are 4 settings for the remote opening the windows if it is programmed to open none then it wont work. it should take only a couple of minutes for a dealer to program. BTW i am a technician at a dealer and read this post just wanted to say what u need to do to make it work
