97-04 S40 - Removing auto gear shifter?
I've just picked up a new woodgrain auto shifter (genuine item) to replace the plastic one on my S40.

Slight problem though... how do I get the old one off? I thought it might just clip off, but no luck there. I took all the surrounding pieces off but couldn't see a logical way to get it off.
Anyone managed to remove the **** before?

Straddle the shifter sitting on both seats put it in nuetral with the E-brake on.Then grab it push the button in and yank like hell.Usually a quick jerk will get it to come off.But be careful I have seen people hit them selves in the head when it releases and comes off.

Would this also work on the removal of a 1990 240 ****?
