Blower motor doesn't blow
My kiddos 2001 s40's blower quit working.
The buttons on the control panel are backlit, but don't light when they are pressed. All of the fuses I've checked have been good. I replaced the cabin filter it was gross, and took a leap of faith and replaced the resister too. I still have the same symptoms. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the wiring to the fan itself. You should have an extra wiring harness between the original fan harness and the original car supply harness. It's for a recall.

If you have the recall harness then verify the fan is getting current with a multimeter. If current is reaching the fan then the fan is the problem. If no current is reaching the fan I would go back to the resistor and make sure it is receiving current from the CCM. If yes then the resistor is the problem. If no then the CCM or wiring in between. I hate electrical issues. If you know someone who is good at troubleshooting electrical circuits you may want to buy them a beer or two for a bit of help.
It has an extra wire harness. I'll have a volt meter tomorrow and at least verify the fan and resistor are good or bad. Are ther any relays I may be missing? What are you referring to when you say CCM?
I'd check power getting to the resistor. That sucker has been the problem so many times. Especially if your cabin filter gets clogged so that it's not cooled properly. You replaced it I read, so that is why I suspected the CCM. However, you still have to check for 12v at the resistor.
It's looking like the ccm, there isn't any power command going to the resistor. It makes sense since the button lights don't change state when they are pushed. I pulled the ***** off the ccm and the lights are still lit, so the unit is still getting power. I'm going to pull it today, see if it has an obvious issue.
Just a heads up.
I replaced the CCM with one I found on Ebay. All is well and the kiddo should be ready for winter. I hope the swede can make it through the winter without any more issues/gremlins.
