I have a 1994 850 Volvo wagon. The heater blower motor either comes on and works perfectly when you start the car or else it never comes on. Wondering if it could be the ignition switch or a relay? I'm not sure what supplies power to the blower motor or how to check what part is causing the problem.

 

ECC (electronic climate control) or MCC? If not sure, post pic of the control panel.

 

If it has numbered fan positions it's MCC (Manual).

If in doubt try gently moving the ign key forward and backward when you're having a no blower situation.

 

It's a ECC and the REC and AC off lights flash for awhile after I start the car. Thanks.

 

The lights are blinking to tell you there is a problem in the system. Same as a check engine light being on. You need to read the codes to find out what's wrong.
