Wife drove home yesturday evening, complained of terrible rattle ("felt like the cars was rattling apart"). I took it for a SHORT ride, not even sure how she drove (1) mile not to mention the (40) miles she drove home like this. Turns out the LF lug nuts became loose and the wheel was rattling around. Took the lug nuts off, (3) where fine, (1) sheared off. Gave a quick inspection of the wheel studs and the wheel itself. Did not look like to much egging out of the rim, noticed a little wear on the (3) remaining wheel studs.

Are the lugs replacable?
Any other areas that may have been comprimized after such a harsh rattle?

 

Yes they are replaceable.Go here chose your car and go to the wheel/tire.
You probably want new lug nuts as well.
