Black smoke means running rich not burning oil.
Blue smoke is oil.

Son has just had a new exhaust made with a sports cat, so maybe its just a diagnostic and tuning to suit new set up

(whoooopeeeeeeeee maybe he wont be coming on tap for some cash again)

Thanks a lot will post results after tuning

Opps

garage think either valve seals or rings

£400 labour + parts for either 1

no garauntees its not the other choice if I choose to have just 1 done

so it spend £1200 or get shut i think

Have them check the vent system first.

just been out in car with r kid to see what problem is

it smokes when you change gear or accelerate hard

exhaust is very black at end and smoke seems to be blue ??

think it may be as garage said myself

going to try other garage first

maybe easier just to swap engine ?

I highly doubt it is a major engine problem.
BLACK smoke means running rich maybe a vacuum leak or something like that.

confirmed engine is burning oil

vent system clear

garage quote more than cars worth

priced replacement engine - still mega after spending a lot already

time to part ways - Car now sold at fraction of purchase cost and after a lot of cash spent.

Luck of the draw unfortunatley this one was a bad one and had obviously been abused prior.

That is very odd. It really must have been beaten and overheated really bad before.
