Caliper Swap Question..
So here is my question... I have a 2004.5 (new body) S40 T5. I wanted to know if it is possible to fit/put on the S60 R's calipers on my S40 without any major mods. Also wanted to see if the rims that came with the S60 R would fit on my S40. If anyone has done this before can you give a ball park figure on what something like this would cost me, and also where i would be able purches these iteams. Any and all info would help me.
Thanks,
Thanks,

RE: Caliper Swap Question..
Yes if your bolt pattern is 5x108mm then the rims from a S60R will fit. Which would be the 17" and or 18" Pegasus rims.
To run the R calipers you will need I believe at least 17" rims as they are big and most likely wont clear smaller rims. Just like the BBK systems available for our cars wont clear smaller then 17" rims.
1. The rims new are going to cost you $250 each. Also it depends on if you want the 17" or 18" rims.
2. Your going to want good tires so lets say at least $150+ per tire.
3. The R calipers a whole system, because you will need the entire system not just the calipers. You'll need bigger rotors that come on the R as well, etc... Your looking at like $1000+. And for a little more you can get a nice BBK system.

RE: Caliper Swap Question..
I believe the bolt pattern is 5X108. I already have the 17" rims cause they came stock with the car. I have been searching for companies that make big brake kits for this s40 and i have found some but most of them wanted some where along the line of $1300USD for just the front brakes, and some companies didnt even gave the option on thier site for the rear set. I will look at some more BBK and see what i find, i am really intersted on the R scheme just because personally i think they look awersome.
Thanks a lot.

1. Most companies do not make big brake for the rear of the car. Why? Because most Volvo are FWD. So you only need the bigger brakes in the front really. In an AWD then all four would benefit from them. RWD of course the rear wheels would benefit.
2. You plan on using your 17" current rubber on the 17" Pegasus rims?

Big Brake Kits
1. http://www.vivaperformance.com/catal...roducts_id=396
2. http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-S40-2004...p-135-530-969/

4. http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/...oducts_id=2858
Might be exspensive, but are good kits.
Of and you might need special brackets to get the s60R calipers to fit your car.

typos ..... No i wont be using the sametires, need to replace them since 2 of them have a slow leak somewhere, but no one seems to find the air leak. I have to put air in those two tire ever 2 weeks. I might as well replace them.

RE: Caliper Swap Question..
I get what your saying about why company's only make kits for the front, but i seen some cars that only have end upgraded and it doesnt look very good. It kind of looks (excuse my language) half-assed. The thing with me is that i dont drive my car like a maniac, i just drive my car normally everywhere i go. The mods I want to make to my S40 is just for visual aesthetics.
