2002 V40, 67K

I got stuck in just a bit of snow today and drove out after spinning the wheels a few times. Nothing excessive. Now I have a Check Engine Light and the Transmission Warning Arrow is flashing. A check of other forums has shown this to be a common occurance, but other than a hard computer re-set (disconnect neg. batt. terminal and wait 10 minutes), no one says how to re-set. Car drives and shifts fine, now I just these lights blinking at me.

Curious why does this happen? Like I wrote, I've read that it happens often enough.... What causes the code to be triggered?

 

I think because the trans gets hot and ends up slipping some then will throw codes because the engine speed and trans speed vary.

 

Started this morning. Flashing arrow is gone, now just CEL is lit. Will get it cleared....
