The 'Old man' has a bit of a problem with the boot / trunk on his '04 S40 2.0l diesel. He's had it checked out at a dealer at a cost of £75 per hour (5hrs total), originally thought it was the touch pad button to open the boot but this has turned out to be ok! The garage have actually traced it back to the CEM unit. My query is.............. Can this unit be fixed? Software? specialist? or is it a definate replacement? Reason I ask is that this unit He's had a price for is £450 plus labour @ approx. 5 hours!?? This is something that Volvo I think have messed up on the S40 compared to the S60 for example, ther's NO other form of entry to the boot / trunk!? At least with the S60 you had the back up of the key!
