I've double checked the terminals and checked the wires and still nothing it was fine prior to changing the battery. The new battery is powered up and is pushing out enough voltage the engine turns but it wont fire up.

Check the fuses, especially the underhood fuses for the fuel pump.

You need fuel, spark, air, and correct timing for the engine to run. I'd start with the easy (and free) stuff first. Check fuel pressure. The newer 2004.5 and up models regulate fuel pressure via voltage supplied to the pump (not the old school regulator like the 1.9L engine). The fuel pressure sensor tells the fuel pump how much pressure to supply. Electrical problems could have fried either the sensor or the pump.

Then check for spark. I'd pull a coil and plug then check for spark while someone cranks the engine.

With the plugs removed I'd check for compression with a compression tester. This will tell you if the timing belt is correct as this is an interference engine. You can also remove the timing belt cover and give the belt a good look over.

Last is air. Just open the filter box and check the air filter for debris.

Do you have a check engine light? Any stored trouble codes?
