Considering 2011 S40
I'm looking at a 2011 S40 with 66k miles. The car is super clean and has had regular maintenance. However, I'm used to Acura and Lexus. My current Lexus has 180k miles and never a problem. My Lexus before that had 260k miles and never a problem. Could I reasonably expect the S40 to be relatively problem free to 150k miles? Or, am I more likely to experience problems. Thanks in advance for your replies.
I wish I could say that the S40 would be as trouble free as the Acura or Lexus but it is not likely. They are reliable but as they rack up miles over 100K, you can expect to do some suspension work: shocks/struts and front lower control arms. They have other strong suits such as safety. I can vouch for this first hand having been in 2 accidents in an S40 and then a V50 that ended up totaled and I walked away just fine. There is also a likable character to these cars that I hadn't found in the Acura or Toyota that I owned.
