2000 S40. Rear suspension creaks with any car movement - getting in, over humps, etc. Is it bad? What is main cause / needs replacing. The car had a small warranty so i wondering if the cause is something for which I cam 'claim'. Warranty is written in tech speak so I need someone to tell me and I can check if its included in warranty.

 

I had a similar issue with my used S40. I thought I was hearing my suspension - turned out the previous owner had cross threaded the bolt that held down spare tire in the trunk. The noise I was hearing was the spare and the jake bumpong around. Dealer rethreaded and for about $20 and have had no problem since.
