Cruise control light is stuck on all the time.
So i got this 2007 volvo s40 2.4I off a parents friend and after i got it i was told that somebody stole the catalytic converter off of it so i have 2 engine lights that pop up one says “ check engine “ and the other is the yellow “ i “ looking icon which im pretty sure both of them pop up because I don’t have a catalytic converter both theres also the cruise control light is always on for some reason and i don’t know why. I try to press the cruise control button on my steering wheel to turn it off but when i press it or even hold it it doesn’t change anything i don’t know if i have faulty sensors or whatever i just wanted to know what y’all think is going on. Thank you all
first thing to do is to do an OBD2 scan to get the exact fault codes. You can rent/borrow a code reader from a big box parts store like Autozone (around here its free) if you don't have one. My expectation is that then they tore out the converter they probably damaged the rear o2 sensor which will throw a CEL code. Its also possible a speed sensor etc was damaged during the theft so again that's where the OBD scan will offer some insight.
