Default Dashboard lights not working

Hi everyone,

Hi i've just bought myself a S40I 2000 1.8 w reg and i noticed last night when driving in the dark that the lights on the dash where the heater and fan switches are did not light up?

All the lights on the stereo and the speedo works fine its just the ones in the centre part of the dash where the heater and fan switches are.

I have had a look under the dash at the fuse box and the one under the bonnet but can't seam to see any fuses that might have blown. Is there any little bulbs behind that part of the dash that might have blown or does the thing not light up!!!

Help on this matter would be appreciated.

Many thanks

There are three light bulbs in the climate control module that you will have to replace (cost about $12 each). You will need to pull the radio out and a few other center dash parts. The face of the climate control pulls off but I believe the 2000 model is different from my 2003 model (sorry). You might want to take the center console out and replace the transmission indicator light and the one for the winter mode switch while you are at it.

Ok i've taken the front off where the fan controls are...pretty easy and replaced the bulbs but there are still not lighting up?

Anyone got any idea what might be wrong.

Many thanks

Replaced the bulbs but lights still aren't working? Have you checked the fuse(s)?

Ive put LED's in my 2002 V40 recently.
If they don't work one needs to remove and refix / rotate 180 degrees to reverse polarity.
Try that it may help.
