Disable DRL fuse? 06 S40
I called the Volvo dealership in Kansas to see if the can turn of my DRL.. they said NO that it was for safety.. even though it isn't a law in the US it is recommended ... I didn't tell the guy I want to remove them cause of my Aftermarket HID Kit.. I was looking @ the manual and I was thinking if I can remove DRL Fuse Relay... Has anyone tried that? Im not experienced at all (LOL) and it took me 2 hours to install my HID's.. is it possible to turn of DRL thru Fuse Box?

Put your headlight switch in the middle position. Turn the ignition switch to position II. Pull the turn signal lever toward you and hold it while turning yourheadlight switch to the off position. Release. This should disable the DLR. If you ever want to change it back, do the process all over again. Hope this helps, Shane

Thanks. I just tried it right now... and it didn't work LOL... I was doing some driving yesterday and it doesn't matter if i put it on the light indicator it seems to go to DRL mode.. Do you think DRL lights are ran with the same intesity as Night time? Im really about to give up on trying to disable my DRL feature.. I have the lights set to the middle position during the day but sometimes I forget to turn them off... Stupid Volvo!! (LOL)

What it comes down to is this.
1. DRL's are there for a reason. SAFETY.
2. If you have them in the first position or the last postion as soon as you turn the car off the light go off.
3. The dealership can disable your DRL's, but if they don't want to you can't make them.
Just deal with it, or find another dealership to do it.
Just be glad Volvo thinks of your safety.
