Default disabling the DRL on 05 S40 T5

I just bought a 05 S40 T5 (6 speed of course) and I never knew the DRL lights run all the time. I have read a few forums stating you can go to a dealer and get them to install a code (30679690 or 30679690-5) that will turn the DRL off. However, I live in Toronto, ON and no dealer will do it!.

I do not mind the smaller (as the dealer calls them, peanut lights) running, I want to turn off the halogen light to be off when the light are switched to "0"

Please no opinions on how safe DRL is and are for safety, I understand that. I just want a solution to turning the halogen light off.

Please help me solve this issue !

Thank you in advance

And not mentioning it being illegal in Canada to not have DRL's right?? Lol.

Two or three of the S40 guys in B.C. had the same issue with there local dealers as it's illegal for them to download the software. They ended up making a day trip to a U.S. dealer to have the DRL's disabled here in the US where it's legal to not have DRL's.

You're close enough to the border. I'd start making some phone calls to dealers in NY or PA to see if they'll take care of you.

Thanks for replying Matt.

It seems like I am going to have to make a road trip to do this. I can't believe no one has figured this out yet.
