Default Door Handle getting more difficult to open

Hi All

Driver's side door handle on my daughter's 2005 S40 seems to take more force than seems like should be necessary to open. Kind of has a "notchy" feel to it.

Is there a lubrication point that might help or is this the sign of something else on its way out or already broken?

Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem with our 2010 V70 (I think it's the same handle design). I took some lubricant and sprayed it right into the outside handle itself (at both contact points) AND took some silicon grease and lubed the catch itself (where the door latches to the frame). That seemed to fix our issue.

Thanks very much for the suggestions- certainly sounds like a good starting point!
