I have a 2001 S40 with a strange idle problem.

Engine runs great...but, is cutting out (or skipping) at idle when stopped in traffic. This only happens at idle, when the car is in gear. If I put in neutral or park, the problem goes away.Once I take off, the skipping goes away. No warning lights. I recently installed Volvo sparkplugs. Is this acoil issue?

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

 

It may be a coil issue.

 

Check the 2-wire connector on each coil as the wires will sometimes back out of the connector resulting in a poor connection with the coil.

Thanks for the tip. I unplugged and replugged. So far, so good....no skipping!! It's only been 2 days...but, I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
