Exhaust smell in cabin?
Recently purchased a 2005 S40 2.4i (U.S. model) with 88,000 miles on it. I'm at about 90,000 now and I've noticed that when I'm stopped and the car is idling wether I've just started it or been driving and have come to a red light, I will get an exhaust smell in the cabin.
As I drive down the road, no smell in the cabin. If I put the A/C on recirc (moving or not), no smell in the cabin. If I open the engine bay (stopped, obviously), no smell in the cabin. It seems (to me anyway) to be an exhaust leak in the engine bay that would be near the fresh air intake. As I just got this car, I don't know where to begin troubleshooting and I haven't seen a similar post from the searches I've done. Also, where can I get the dealer service manuals for my car?
I had a full set of them for my old Dodge Stratus and they saved me hundreds/thousands in repairs by doing the work myself.
THANKS!
